Are You A Cinderella?
Do you wake up in the morning, hopeful, content, and conformed with your life, even if it’s not exactly what you’ve expected? As Cinderella does, one might simply dress themselves, and without questioning, or even eating first, begins to respond to unreasonable and somewhat abusive demands from her stepsisters. She’s focused on the task at hand, and performs well, balancing all plates at once, with the clear direction of getting it done.
Cinderella though is not their servant, she’s the owner of the house, or at least technically, she owns half of the house, considering her heritage from her father. Yet, Cinderella does not occupy the place she’s meant to have. She instead, due to her vulnerability or lack of confidence, listens to a stepmother and stepsisters, who always put her down, never see her value and force her into a role that simply they need it to be filled.
Coming back to Cinderella’s performance, even balancing all the plates and doing her duty, she constantly has Lucifer, the cat, (no religion pun intended) get in her way, disturbing her focus. Not only that, without recognizing her full potential, she listens to two very loud, and mean voices from her stepsisters, that are not in any way 1% of Cinderella is, as a full functioning adult and human being. Her biggest fear and obstacle is her stepmother, the loudest voice in her head telling her that she’s not capable of anything and she’s never gonna achieve her dreams. After all, she’s not even suitable to attend a ball.
I believe there are a lot of Cinderellas out there, who simply don’t see or recognize their value, potential and strength. Cinderellas that unfortunately listen too much to the “step-voices” in their minds and don’t believe they can go further. Cinderellas who still need to find and listen to their fairy godmother, their most powerful voice in their heads, able to turn dreams and hopes into beautiful realities.
Either you’re a lady or a gentleman, don’t be a Cinderella, don’t listen to your stepsisters and don’t let your stepmother hold you back. Look for your glass shoes and step into those. Eventually you’ll have a great time at the party that you deserve to attend.
